    This book is a compilation of 5 novels on the historic period of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj written by Late G. N. Dandekar. These novels are more based on social view rather than political. Author has brought forward the whole history during Shivaji era with all the small aspects through this book. Author stresses more on social aspects of history and geography of that period. The period covered in the book is about 50 to 60 years.

    Following five novels collectively make the description of the whole Shivaji period. 'Bayaa Daar Ughad' tells us the society in Maharashtra before Shivaji's birth, which was necessary to be changed and it reveals that to revamp this society itself, Shivaji was born and the prayers were answered.

    'Har Har Mahadev' is the novel where period in novel where period in which little Shivaji came with Jijabai to Pune and started the freedom struggle and the formation of 'Swarajya' and its process is well described. 'Daryabhawani' consists of the power of fighting against Adilshah, Siddhis and the portuguese in Konkan region.

    Fourth novel - 'Zunjar Machi' describes the desire and capability to build Sindhudurg and other forts in Swarajya, and the reliability of the loyal soldiers of Shivaji Maharaj. In fifth novel - 'He to Shrinchi Iccha' has the period marked up to Shivaji's coronation ceremony which suggests that this was the part which had to be happened. Thus the period of Shivaji Maharaj is well described and can be experienced in form of stories.
