Daryaraj Kanhoji Angre is written by Sadashiv Shivade and is among 3 to 4 books written on Kanhoji Angre of which the other one written by Manohar Malgaonkar and translated by P.L. Deshpande.
Knowing the importance of the defense in the coastal area, Shivaji Maharaj set up the naval force and later Kanhoji Angre looked after and expanded it. After the death of Sambhaji, Queen Tararani and later Balaji Vishwanath Bhat joined with Shahu Maharaj. In 17th century, the British, Portuguese started coming India, and by end of eighteenth century, they settled down but in the way, had to face a tough time from Kanhoji Angre.
Author also gives a brief history of Indian navy along with the naval defense of Marathas and the family history of Kanhoji anger. All the battles fought by Kanhoji Angre against the British and Portuguese are narrated in this book. In addition some letters by Kanhoji Angre and important information published in 1935 to 1940. giving the overall information in detail about Kanhoji Angre.
