    About The Book

'Hemadri' or Hemadpant was a chief minister during the kingdom of Yadavs of Deogiri. This post was also termed as 'Karanadhip'. During 1263, the famous Vithal temple of Pandharpur was under construction, where the stone scriptures used on the temple deduce that Hemadri was one of the donors for the temple. Hemadri was not just an adminstrator, but also had written a huge book in sanskirt namely-'chaturvarga Chintamani', giving information on various fasts gaining the religious importance. Till 19th century the official matters and documents in Maharashtra were framed in modi script which is noticed to be introduced by Hemadri along with proper evidence. Till 1272, hemadapant was the chief minister of king Ramchandra Dev of Deogiri.

He also respected Marathi language and has authored books in the same. He has been quite fine in behaving with other religions and had helped the jains living in Deogiri to build temples. Hemadpant introduced a pecuilar style in the construction of a building, which we all know about as 'Hemadpanti Temples' today. Hundreds of such hemadpanti temples are still existing in South India. His book 'Chaturvarga Chintamani' reveals the information about various types of temples, idols too.

Thus author describes the biography of Hemadpant expanding his work, on religious front, as able administrator, in modi script and architecture along with notable evidences in history.
